The latest video (https://youtu.be/wRRgLZBh8V8)from Wild West Jerky shows off perfectly where the brand was created and the scenery that inspired the company to make such great tasting jerky.

The video was shot and produced on the Isle of Lewis by Richard Davies, founder of Wild West Jerky, who has long made this rugged island off the west coast of Scotland his home.

Apart from the scenery, the star of the video has to be Rhoda, ultra-marathon runner. Rhoda took up running as a means of getting one of her children to sleep in their buggy, and running soon grew to be something of an addiction. Having successfully completed her first half marathon in 2006, she went on to run the length of the Western Isles, 6 marathons in 6 days for the Linda Norgrove Foundation.

Richard Davies started the Wild West Jerky brand back in 2002, and from then it has grown to be the No.1 jerky brand in the UK. Richard has not let his entrepreneurial drive stop there though, and is now branching out into film. This video for Wild West Jerky is his first for the brand, and with a back drop as stunning as the Western Isles on his doorstep he didn't have to venture far from his home to film.

Wild West Jerky is a tasty snack that can be taken anywhere, with only natural goodness in every bag. It is made from silverside of beef that has been carefully selected, trimmed, then marinated in store cupboard ingredients including soya sauce, apple cider vinegar, honey, and herbs and spices such as pepper, coriander and thyme. The silverside is then slowly cooked and smoked until it becomes delicious and healthy jerky.

Wild West Jerky is available throughout the UK and Europe.

How it all started with finding from PSYBT https://youtu.be/kkQ2shseRRg

The Meatsnacks Group is Europe's largest producer of jerky and biltong and also has a pork snacks range, Hogbites which includes pork crackling.

Jerky and biltong are highly popular with athletes and fitness-conscious snackers looking for an energy boost, as products are high in protein and lower in fat than other snack products. This makes jerky and biltong a healthier snack when compared to products such as crisps, biscuits and chocolate, and hence why it's also popular as a snack at home or for those on the move and at work.

The essential difference between jerky and biltong is that the former is made from sliced, marinated meat which is then cooked and smoked, whereas biltong is made from sliced, marinated meat which is then air dried.
