Former minister joins debate in Stafford

A former Government minister will be joining Stafford's largest landlord for a special event to discuss the issues facing older people in the local community.

Called Full of Life, the event is being organised by Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH), as part of national celebrations to mark the achievements of older people.

Leading the debate will be SARH Chief Executive Karen Armitage, who will be joined by the Rt Hon Paul Burstow, former Minister of State for the Department of Health and now an advisor to the Telecare Services Association and Professor of Mental Health Policy at Birmingham University. Will Boyce, CEO of Approach Staffordshire and Chair of the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Dementia Action Alliance, will also be taking part.

The event will also provide the opportunity to showcase the contribution older people make to the community and how their experience, enthusiasm and skills can help shape a better society.

If you would like to send a correspondent to cover this event, please contact Martin Farrow at Changeworks Communications on 07771 970025.
