MILITARY STYLE LUXURY SPORTS YACHT UNVEILED

A luxury sports yacht with military styling and a nod to days gone by is set to make waves and prove that bigger is not always better.

The 25m ‘Seafire’, commissioned with Gilmour Design, has been inspired by the military, naval torpedo boat and the nostalgic style of Spitfires, turbo-charged Bentleys and PT boats.

Fitted with the latest technology and safety features, the high speed ‘Seafire’ is intended to bring fun and excitement back into the world of yachting and will achieve a top speed of circa 60 knots.

In keeping with its military styling, the ‘Seafire’ will be individually numbered on the bow but has the flexibility for the owner of each vessel to tailor it inside and out to their specific requirements and tastes.

The ‘Seafire’ fills a gap in the market and is targeted towards those with a passion for fast cars, planes and who are young at heart.  It provides spacious accommodation and living quarters for up to six guests and two crew members.

Ross Sedgley, Design Manager, said: “The ‘Seafire’ presents the opportunity for modern man to reclaim a lifestyle that has long pass of Hollywood glamour and stars such as Ernest Hemingway, Clark Gable and Gary Grant.  The indulged passions for fast cars and planes is beginning to re-emerge after years of repression and those who pursue a James Bond image and lifestyle will be the envy of bystanders in any marina.”

Gilmour Design has completed the design and specification for the new ‘Seafire’, and it is currently tendering for the production of the first vessel which is expected to have a 24-month build period.   This commission will be the first of a production series.
