Acclaim for security services provider to the insurance and insolvency sectors

VPS, the leading provider to the insurance and insolvency sectors for protecting vacant properties, has been shortlisted for the third year running in the security industry's major awards.

Judges for IFSEC'sSecurity and Fire Excellence Awards, sponsored by Samsung, have selected VPS as a finalist for ‘Best Contribution to Security Standards', alongside other top benchmark brands, such as theNational Security Inspectorate(NSI) and Marks and Spencer.

VPS currently secures and protects £3 billion of assets across the UK, and last year won Large Security Installer Award for its project with administrator EY, when it secured 51 CityLink depots in a day.

"We work hard to improve standards across our industry, so reaching the final selection for best contribution to security standards is particularly significant," says David Taylor-Smith, CEO of parent company,VPS Group. "Choosing a security company to take care of their property assets is one of the most important decisions a customer will make, and that provider must be completely reliable and trustworthy."

"A key reason VPS is the UK market leader in taking care of vacant property and remote sites is because we are recognised by clients asthestandards bearer in the business. We ensure the highest standards are achieved across the services we provide, whether its live-in guardians, alarm and temporary CCTV systems, emergency response, maintenance solutions or human patrols. This is supported by our national coverage, with a complete service offering expertise and experience."

In 2016 VPS issued an ‘insider's guide' onhow tocheck the credentials of security companiesand their personnel, after the number of prosecutions of unlicensed guards had doubled in the first quarter.

The first everBritish Standardto protecting vacant property was published last October, and its framework was based on the guide by the BSIA (British Security Industry Association), promoted by their new Vacant Property Protection Group and chaired by VPS' director, Simon Alderson.

David Taylor-Smith concludes "I'm delighted that our employees are being recognised by the industry itself, not just for upholding but also for encouraging the best-in-class standards in security. They pride themselves on being able to find the most fit-for-purpose solution from security options available today. It's a privilege to work with this team."
