Introducing Sidhil's new Activ8 ICU beds

Healthcare specialists Sidhil have further extended their range of beds designed for applications in the acute sector with the introduction of four new ICU/ITU models, incorporating a range of features developed specifically for the critical care environment. Utilising state of the art design for ease of use and flexibility, the new Activ8 and Activ8 Tilt beds meet all current European requirements and standards for medical devices.

Constructed around four section x-ray transparent mattress platforms, the Activ8 beds are designed to facilitate the easy use of C-arm and other x-ray procedures. Channels for x-ray cassettes are located under the backrest, fixed and femoral sections to facilitate use of x-ray equipment with patients in either seated or horizontal positions.

Both Activ8 and Activ8 Tilt models feature a low mattress platform and split side rails to facilitate safe and easy ingress and egress from the bed. Standard functions include auto regression for pressure reduction in the femoral and leg sections, and cardiac chair position for improved patient comfort. Head and foot ends are easy to remove, giving fast and unencumbered access to patients for emergency treatment.

The beds are available with either an analogue or full digital handset, controlling all electric functions, and also feature selected patient controls set into the siderail for ease of access. An optional clear LCD display gives one touch control over positioning including cardiac chair, Fowler, Trendelenburg, CPR, examination and anti-shock positions.

The Activ8 Tilt and Activ8 Tilt+feature a lateral tilt movement used for certain clinical treatment procedures and to assist with moving and handling. Activ8+ models also incorporate a weigh scale facility for checking patient weights to assist with establishing medication dosages.

Activ8 beds are designed around hygiene and infection control, with rounded edges and open areas to facilitate cleaning procedures. All metal components are powder coated to resist UV radiation, mechanical damage and disinfecting agents.

With a wide range of available accessories, additional features also include angle indicators, linen shelf, optional coloured head and foot ends and siderails and a 200mm bed extension for taller patients.
