Opening of new lab to strengthen top partnerships with ALS' leadership in pharmaceutical testing

New investment ‘underlines our client-focussed commitment to quality and service delivery.'

ALS Pharmaceutical, the leading UK life sciences group, has announced the official opening day for their new laboratory will be held on Wednesday September 7^th.

The growth of ALS in recent years is attributable in large part to its success in developing close working relationships with leading global and FTSE 100 pharmaceutical manufacturers and cosmetic suppliers, as well as some local hospital trusts.

As Sharon Hanly, General Manager of ALS' Ely laboratory explains, "We provide an independent safety and validation check for both specialist medicines and everyday products used by the public and in hospitals. For example, we test and analyse the purity of water used in the production of medicines and also in operating theatres."

The investment quadruples the size of ALS' current microbiology testing laboratory and includes a new HEPA filtered facility and purpose-built, walk-in chambers for storage stability trials. Increased batch release testing will add to their capability, with their technicians performing over 40,000 chemical and microbiological tests every month.

Sharon Hanly concludes: "Over the last few years we have experienced consistent double-digit growth. ALS' £2 million investment at Ely not only underlines our commitment to delivering great service to our clients, but also represents our determination to attract even more leading manufacturers top quality partnerships and to strengthen our position as the pharmaceutical testing facility of choice in the UK."

The new premises will officially be opened by the Mayor of Ely, Dr Ian Lindsay, at the Cambridgeshire Business Park, September 7^th.
