British beauty brand hits back at claims of illegal products

Smile Enhance ltd, a Manchester based beauty brand, has hit back at social media claims that their beauty enhancing goods are of an illegal nature.

The newcomer to the market, whose products are designed by dental laboratories with over 30 years' experience in the cosmetics industry, have had to battle through a slurry of ‘trolling' on their social media sites. The brand want to see an end to the ‘business trolling' that causes issues for their business and for many independent brands. Smile Enhance aim their products towards customers looking to benefit from a perfect smile whilst feeling comfortable knowing they are using a safe and efficient oral care product. Their range of tooth stain removal products are the most recent products to come under scrutiny by ‘business trolls'.

With no clear boundaries or rules when it comes to what people can and can't say about a person and their business on social media, it's becoming increasingly difficult for relatively small businesses such as Smile Enhance to prove their worth in the market. With claims that their oral care solutions are being illegally sold, Smile Enhance are ‘hitting back' in order set the record straight about their products.

Smile Enhance CEO Rebecca Moorfield said, "The amount of slanderous comments that our small brand receives from other professionals is outrageous. You are fooled into thinking professionals of a medical calibre know how to present themselves, especially when representing a well-known brand. We are inundated with phone calls from withheld numbers, callers pretending to be customers asking for product advice - trying to catch staff out via a recorded lines, and then there's the trolling on social media. Enough is enough".

Each of Smile Enhance's products are scientifically designed in conjunction with the oral cavity to be used without causing any abnormalities. The brand have sold thousands of products to date with five star genuine reviews from their customers and members of the general public.

The Cosmetic Products (Safety) Regulations 2008 states that a cosmetic product is defined by its ability: to clean, to perfume, to change the appearance etc. The applications for such areas are many, including the mouth area. Cosmetic Tooth Colour Enhancement and Stain Removal does the above only, it cleans and changes the appearance, in which case, Smile Enhance are breaking no laws when offering their products to the market.

Moorfield continues, "Our Company doesn't offer teeth whitening services, and our sales division are not medically trained to do so. We don't mislead the public to thinking that they are, and we never use the term ‘teeth whitening' in our marketing. We always ensure that it is clear that our products are ‘stain removal' treatments."

Smile Enhance's stain removal technology contains an ingredient that is activated through saliva; this same ingredient allows the stain to be removed from the users tooth. There are many scientific differences between both CTCE stain removal and tooth whitening; for example, CTCE stain removal will clean up any cosmetic fixture, crowns, caps or veneers, tooth whitening will not.

Moorfield concludes, "We do not wish to create an uneven balance between non medics and medics, and we applaud governing bodies for all the hard work they put in to bringing illegal whiteners to justice. However, we feel it's unfair to have to tolerate slanderous comments any longer, and there needs to be a clear definition between what a medics can offer and what a beautician can offer, within the cosmetic oral care industry. This industry is changing vastly, with more and more students wanting to offer our products and services. With the correct education, there's a place for both medics and none medics, and a healthy stream of income can reside for both sets of professionals without the need for a constant fight".

Smile Enhance's tooth stain removal products have been scientifically proven to be safe and effective and offers recorded results of up to 20 shades lighter upon the completion of the treatments. Smile Enhance have tested their product through strict UK cosmetic regulations and as a result, over 10 thousand have been sold across the UK. Along with their beauty and oral care products, Smile Enhance also provides training courses through their academy in Manchester, allowing beauty professionals to sell and distribute Smile Enhance's products to their own client base.

About Smile Enhance:

The story of the Smile Enhance network began with one lady and an ambitious dream. For years, Rebecca Moorfield had been searching for a business idea that would bring together the two biggest goals in her life, equality and freedom.

With her background in beauty therapy, and the power of a sales plan, Rebecca studied to become an educator and brought together a fully accredited beauty therapy network.

Smile Enhance quickly grew from one woman's dream into the dream of millions. The mix of Smile Enhance's products and the simplicity of their career plan meant that anyone who wanted too could improve the quality of their life. Some students started out as customers in search of better smiles, some grew from satisfied customers to Smile Enhance entrepreneurs.
