Briggs Defence will be showcasing its ability to deliver comprehensive
mechanical handling and engineering service solutions for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) at a special event that brings together suppliers, the military and the procurement community.

Taking place over two days at the Millbrook Proving Ground, near Bedford, DVD 2016 is jointly sponsored by Army Headquarters and the MoD's Defence Equipment and Support (Land Equipment) organisation.

At the event, Briggs Defence - aspecialist division of leading engineering and equipment provider, Briggs Equipment -will be showcasing a range of products and services, including Hyster forklifts, protected plant equipment and its dedicated engineering expertise.

Gary Clements, Strategic Development Director at Briggs, commented: "By showcasing both our materials handling and service support capabilities at the show, we will be demonstrating our ability to provide capability and assurance within the Defence environment.

"Of course, the show is not just about equipment, it will also provide us with the opportunity to engagement with our customer and highlight the wide range ofengineering and asset management services we currently deliver to the MoD and related agencies. We will also be demonstrating our ability to innovate and showing how Briggs Defence is evolving to meet the ever changing needs of this sector.

Already a trusted partner supporting 279 MoD locations across 13 countries, Briggs Defence manages in excess of 4,000 assets, including forklift trucks, protected plant vehicles, trailers, tow tractors, container handlers and agricultural tractors, and has a proven track record as a complete solution provider, operating one of the country's largest skilled engineering teams across both UK and overseas operations.

Now, Briggs Defence is more closely aligned with its customer group, transitioning from a single contract delivery model to one that supports multiple contracts across both Government and industry sectors. In doing so, the company aims to deliver exceptional value for money, flexibility and operational cost reductions whilst utilising the latest technology to improve capability.

As well as providing a platform to discuss these changes with industry insiders, the show in September will also highlight the company's support for military-related charities and a Rally for Heroes car together with theRAF Regular & Reserve BMW teamsuperbike, will take pride of place on the Briggs Defence stand.
