Italian wine cafes turn wine into water!

Veeno, the Italian Wine Cafe, have recently announced that they will be turning wine into water by supporting water aid charity Drop4Drop.

Through sales of a new range of wines from co-founder Nino Caruso’s family vineyard, the company will provide 10,000 litres of clean drinking water to communities in need with each bottle sold.

The wines in question are no ordinary wines. In a fitting tribute to environmental consideration, Veeno have introduced a range of Bio wines into their current portfolio of seven cafes. The wines place an emphasis on sustainable agriculture and responsibility to the environment, achieved by giving careful consideration to the methods used - from the growing of the vine in a process which is certified as 100% organic, to the label which is made from sugar cane. Andrea Zecchino, co-founder of the company, added: "We are very proud to support such an important project, and we look forward to sharing this mission with our customers".

Speaking to Charlotte Knights, Drop4Drop Charity Communications, she said, “Drop4Drop are delighted to welcome on board Veeno, the first wine cafe chain to support the charity. Veeno’s Bio wines, which highlight the importance of sustainable agriculture, have an excellent synergy with Drop4Drop promoting responsible citizenship and stressing the importance of water conservation and clean water for all. We look forward to developing our partnership and giving thousands of people access to clean drinking water together.”

The wines are available to buy now in each of Veeno’s cafes and online at www.theveenostore.com
