CNWL appoints Tom Kibasi as new NED

Tom Kibasi has been appointed by our governors as a Non Executive Director (NED) from Wednesday 1 June 2016.

Tom is the newly-appointed Director of the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), a leading progressive thinktank with a strong programme of policy development in health.

Prior to joining IPPR, Tom spent more than a decade at McKinsey and Company where he held leadership roles in the healthcare practice in both London and New York. He is an honorary lecturer at Imperial College London, where he has collaborated with Lord Darzi for many years, including on the landmark report High Quality Care for All and Better Health for London, the report of the London Health Commission.

Tom is passionate about improving health services, and has worked on integrated care programmes across north-west London with both providers and commissioners.

Originally from Enfield, Tom now lives in Kennington, in south-east London.

He replaces Carl Powell who recently stood down.

Professor Dorothy Griffiths, Chair of CNWL, said: "This is an excellent appointment. Tom's expertise really appealed to the Governors - who represent our members and the wider public - and he is very experienced in the ways of the wider NHS and that's very helpful too."
