New Divisional Medical Director appointed at CNWL

AN experienced clinician has been appointed to a prestigious post within CNWL.

Dr Farrukh Alam has been appointed as new Divisional Medical Director for Sexual Health Services, Addictions and Offender Care Services and services in Milton Keynes. He was most recently Joint Clinical Director within CNWL's Addictions and Offender Care Services.

He replaces Dr Sarah Marriott who is returning to a clinical role, still within CNWL.

Medical Director Dr Cornelius Kelly said: "I am delighted that Dr Farrukh Alam has been appointed as the new Divisional Medical Director. He is an extremely experienced clinician and medical manager and we are very fortunate to have him join the senior medical management team.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Sarah Marriott for the great skill and expertise she brought to the Divisional Medical Director role - not least in developing the services in Milton Keynes to such a high standard - and I am grateful that she will return to a clinical post, after a short break, where her extensive clinical experience will be most welcome."

Dr Alam said: "I am excited to be taking up this new post. There are many challenges ahead of us in the coming years and I aim to carry on the good work carried out by my predecessor Dr Sarah Marriott, who has carried out such sterling work on behalf of patients and staff."
