Yorkshire farm machinery importer launches Unia MX Spreader

An East Yorkshire farm machinery importer has extended its range of Unia products with the launch of the MX Spreader.

Market Weighton based Manterra Ltd. is the sole UK importer for Unia, the Polish agricultural machinery manufacturing giant, and the MX Spreader complements Manterra's growing range that also includes ploughs, cultivators and discs.

The MX Spreader is available in 24 and 36m spreading widths and its hopper capacity is from 850 to 3,000 litres. The hopper is also available in a full stainless steel option.

Of the launch, Manterra founder, farmer and agronomist Andrew Manfield said: "The Unia MX offers exceptional value for money and is a proven machine throughout Europe. Its spreading accuracy is validated by the German DLG Test Halls that are considered the gold standard of machinery testing.

"Customers who saw the MX for the first time at LAMMA show last weekcommented how they welcomed such a well proven, strong, efficient and simple machine at a time when growers need to invest in machines they can rely on for the long term."

Prices start at under £3,000 for the 850 litre hopper option and a machine will be available to view at The Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show on 3rdFebruary.

Manterra Ltd was established by farmer and agronomist, Andrew Manfield in 2011 and has its foundations in a farming business that was established at the beginning of the last century. Manterra is also an authorised reseller for Trimble precision agriculture products and Duport spoke wheel injectors. In addition, Manterra is the key technology supplier to the Stockbridge Technology Centre Tru-Nject project that has secured Innovate UK funding for a three year trial to commercialise innovative soil nutrient mapping technology that has the potential to revolutionise farming practices.

Founded in 1882, Unia Group is Central Europe's leading manufacturer of agricultural machinery and employs 1350 people at its five manufacturing sites in Poland and France. It produces 25,000 machines per annum and exports to over 60 countries.
