Hope O'Reilly, 7, has taken on a 50k run during the month of September to help raise money for the refurbishment of Cardiff Dog's Home.
Hope, a devoted dog lover said: "I'm doing it because I have a dog and I wanted to do it for the other dogs because I know how nice they are to people, so I want to raise money for them."
Lisa Freeman, Hope's mum, said, "I am hugely proud of Hope. She is so determined to do this challenge and raise as much money as possible for the Cardiff Dogs Home.
"Hope has a big heart and seeing her getting her trainers on after a long day at school just to get more miles in makes me smile with so much pride"
Hope, who has just started in the juniors at her school, is fitting in the kilometres after school and on the weekends.
Earlier this month, Hope and her family were invited to Cardiff Dog's Home where she was able to meet some of the four-legged friends she is fundraising for.
Maria Bailie, Dog's Home Manager, said, "Wow! What an incredible undertaking for a 7 year old.
"We are so proud of Hope and so grateful to her for taking on this personal challenge to help Cardiff's dogs.
"Thank you Hope and good luck with completing your target, you are amazing."
Hope is currently smashing her fundraising target and has under 17km to reach by the end of the month.
On the final day, Thursday 30thSeptember, all Hope's friends will gather in Grange gardens for Hope's final mile.
