This August bank holiday you can expect three, absolute jam-packed days of sporting action, music and family fun for everyone as Cardiff Harbour Festival hosts Extreme Sailing Series™ returns to the Bay.
Host to the global sailing competition for the seventh consecutive year, Cardiff Harbour Festival marks theonly UK stop on the action-packed global circuit, which spans the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. The event will play host to a fleet of elite-level international sailing teams including wildcard Team Wales featuring talented Welsh sailors, Martin Evans and Gareth Fowler, who hail from Swansea and Chepstow, respectively.
Stadium Racing will headline the event and take place each day from 2pm-5pm*.The Flying Phantom Series' two-man hydro-foiling catamarans return and will enhance the on-the-water racing schedule, ensuring non-stop action.
As well as racing, the event will provide shore-side entertainment for the whole family and spectators can enjoy live music, fun activities, bars, food stalls in the Race Village on Harbour Drive with expert commentary of the racing, while taking advantage of the perfect viewing spot.
The Race Village will boast food stalls including the Mighty Soft Shell Crab, Grazing Shed and Vive La Crepewhilst inRoald Dahl Plass you'll find over thirty market stalls selling a range of foods from all over Europe, a bar as well as Dutch flowers, leather goods and wooden furniture.
There's plenty on to amuse young guests with Britannia Park hosting a series of entertainment including Circo Rum Ba Ba's"The Whale".Find all sorts of street theatre over at the Senedd steps includingThe Wonder Woman StreetShowor catch the BMX Inspire Show in the Race Village.
Alexandra Headhas been transformed into the Capital FM Cardiff Bay Beach boasting 500 tonnes of sand, deck chairs, free splash pool and a host of attractions for all ages. Other highlights include the Bay Eco Loungefeaturing a water hydration station for visitors to fill up their reusable water bottles.
