With the summer season just around the corner, Stafford residents are being offered the opportunity to join a new yoga and meditation class based on authentic classical yoga to help them stay cool and calm.

Starting in June, the Satyananda class will be open to anyone new to yoga regardless of age, fitness, ability or experience. As well as helping people to develop strength and flexibility the class will be especially beneficial for stress and anxiety.

Sue Tupling, teacher of the class says many people turn to yoga to help with stress.

"Stress, worry and anxiety seem to be at record levels and Satyananda yoga gives people the chance to silence the chaos. This style of yoga is very mindfulness based and gives people a way to connect with their own inner peace," Sue commented.

The class is being run at Baswich (Berkswich) Community Hall on Thursday evenings. It is ideal for beginners as well as more experienced individuals, as it starts very gently but develops mindful awareness and works with many layers of the self. People feel the benefits of relaxation immediately, and the physical benefits develop as the postures gradually get stronger.

The class is open to anyone and starts on Thursday June 15 from 7:00-8:30pm at Baswich (Berkswich) Community Hall, Baswich Ln, Stafford, ST17 0BY with a cost of £8.50 per session or £40 for a 5 week block.
