North Yorkshire business shortlisted in regional Rural Business Awards final

 

A North Yorkshire rapeseed oilbusiness has been named as one of the best in the North by a nationwide awards scheme that is run in partnership with Amazon.

 

Thixendale based Breckenholme has been shortlisted in theBest Manufacturing Business category of the Rural Business Awards 2018/19.

 

To reach the regional final, the business that is home to brands Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil and Charlie and Ivy's, had toprove that it has embraced the challenges of operating out of a rural premise, that it has a clear strategy, strong growth and financial performance and has laid the foundations for continued commercial success.

 

Of the shortlist, Breckenholme founder, Adam Palmer said: "We're thrilled to have reached the regional final of these high profile awards and we look forward to flying the flag for Yorkshire at the final."

 

Breckenholme has been shortlisted alongside four other start-up businesses, including West Yorkshire business Harrison Spinks Beds, from the North region that extends from Scotland to South Yorkshire. The regional winners will be announced at a ceremony at The Last Drop Village, Bolton on 9thOctober and will go forward to a national final in February, 2019.

 

TheRural Business Awards, run in partnership with Amazon, honour the best in British countryside enterprise.

 

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by Adam and Jennie Palmer on their farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. They now produce a range ofoils, dressings and mayonnaisebased on their award-winning rapeseed oil that is produced exclusively from home. Their Yorkshire Wolds grown rapeis pressed, blended, bottled and labelled on the family farm.
