An exhibition to mark the 150thanniversary of Cardiff Naturalists' Society is to be held at Cardiff Story Museum next month.

‘Cardiff Naturalists' Society: The First 150 years!' is a celebration of the important conservation work carried out by society members in both Cardiff and the wider south Wales area.

An audio-visual presentation will explore the rich history of one of Cardiff's oldest societies and also shine a light on some of the rare and unusual discoveries found at local wildlife sites.

Manager of the Cardiff Story Museum, Victoria Rogers said: "We are very happy to be working so closely with Cardiff Naturalists' Society as they celebrate their 150thanniversary. Here in Cardiff we are very lucky to live in a city which has such a rich diversity of wildlife and perfect natural surroundings for them to live in. Whether you're walking along the banks of the River Taff, strolling in one of the city's beautiful parks or visiting a nature reserve you are never far away from amazing British wildlife in Cardiff. We hope that visitors find this exhibition enjoyable, informative and that it inspires future naturalists."

The exhibition runs from Monday 4thSeptember until Sunday 26thNovember and entry is free.
