EMEX 2015
11-12 November
ExCel London
Stand F75

Going to EMEX?

Tell us what you think of the government's energy efficiency policies

Energy managers, suppliers and users attending EMEX 2015 are being asked to visit the EEVS team on stand F75 to register their views on the government's energy efficiency policies and how these are impacting suppliers, consumers and technologies.

Visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to join the EEVS and Blomberg New Energy Finance UK Energy Efficiency Trends community, whereby they can:

  • participate in the quarterly surveys*

  • receive up to date energy efficiency intelligence

  • take part in additional events, discussions and wider energy efficiency opportunities

Participation is only open to those who are actively involved in the sector.

Energy Efficiency Trends is the UK's most insightful independent energy efficiency report. Compiled from the results of a confidential, quarterly industry survey, it clearly evidences industry trends and has become one of the sector's leading sources of market intelligence. The report covers both energy suppliers and consumers, providing differentiated results for each market sector.

Delivered by a research partnership between EEVS and Bloomberg New Energy Finance, and supported by Bird & Bird, Bellrock and Schneider Electric, the latest report was issued on 14 October 2015. It showed the energy efficiency market monitor falling for the second consecutive quarter, from just below 100 points in Q1 2015 to 51 points in Q2 2015.

It also found that in Q2 2015 public buildings (21%) and manufacturing sites (17%) had overtaken offices (15%) as the principle property types to benefit from energy efficiency upgrades. This, it said, was the first time that office property had not been in the top spot since the survey began in 2012.

The report evidenced the impacts resulting from a sharp fall in industry confidence with regards to the government's management of energy efficiency policies. To view the full October 2015 report: http://www.eevs.co.uk/trends.html

Ian Jeffries at EEVS said:

"We'd like to talk to energy managers, users and suppliers at EMEX to investigate further the trends reported earlier this month. Responses over the summer months showed that the sector felt a notable lack of government support for energy efficiency.

"However, it is clear that the policy landscape has shifted somewhat since then, with the much-publicised cuts to renewable energy subsidies and a Treasury-led review of energy efficiency and carbon taxation. We'd like to know what the energy efficiency sector feels about these changes.

"We'll also consider the changing sentiments allied to the upcoming COP21 negotiations in Paris," he said.

Considering the importance of the report, he continued:

"The sector's responses to government policies and proposals need to be analysed and heard. The Trends report provides a concise, timely and accessible means of doing so.

"The insight it provides is helping to transform levels of transparency and understanding within the sector - as well as supporting better, faster, more confident decision making in relation to commercial energy saving investments.

"EMEX is the perfect opportunity for energy managers to become part of the Trends reporting programme."

EEVS will be exhibiting on stand (F75) at EMEX 2015. Those that are unable to attend can find out more about joining the survey panel by visiting: http://www.eevs.co.uk/contactsurvey.html
