Sara Tye becomes managing director at Gingernut Creative 

Sara Tye, the award winning and top 500 international PR and business development expert, is Gingernut Creative’s new managing director.

Gingernut Creative is a Birmingham-based creative agency. It helps organisations inspire diverse audiences through its expertise in research, strategy, design, branding, digital and video. Gingernut Creative has a diverse client list, with a particularly strong presence in the health care sector where clients include, Pfizer, the NHS and several local authorities across the UK. The company also has clients in the education, technology and leisure sectors.

A communications expert with over 30 years’ experience, Sara has been voted Green PR of London by the Evening Standard and was a finalist in the first Cosmopolitan Women of the Year Awards in 1999. She helps develop businesses, individuals and organisations through networking, publicity, online strategies and proven business development techniques.

Sara spent three years managing the personal PR internationally for The Body Shop’s eminent founder, the late Dame Anita Roddick. She took them online, making the retailer one of the world’s first to establish a global internet presence.

The Make Your Mark for a Tenner campaign, which Sara helped develop, was commended as one of the CIPR’s best sustainable PR programmes. Sara was also responsible for the Impact on Society section of The European Foundation of Quality Management Model and Award, which Yellow Pages won in 1999.

Sara is the founder and managing director of redheadPR, a team of smart, passionate people who identify PR and marketing opportunities and deliver for ambitious brands, individuals and organisations. Clients of redheadPR include innovative businesses in sectors including gardening, heating, ventilating and air conditioning, food and drink, travel, property and business services.

Sara is a passionate and motivational speaker, a writer, coach, mentor and trainer. She is a top BNI member and Director Consultant in the UK and serves on the advisory council of I AM WOMAN. She helps develop businesses, individuals and organisations through networking, publicity, online strategies and proven business development techniques.

Sara has 30 years of communications expertise and was a finalist in the first Cosmopolitan Women of the Year Awards in 1999. She played a key role in the implementation of the BT’s environmental policy and the development and management of the philanthropic Best Practice process at Yellow Pages.

Sara has experience of all forms of on and offline media and has worked with outlets including The Philippines Inquirer, 60 Minutes Australia, the Financial Times and Pamela Wallin Live in Canada.

Sara built two previous PR agencies, running international brands, such as Packard Bell and Nokia, with 360-degree stakeholder communication plans and online and social networking strategies.

Sara has drive, vision and awareness of cultures and dynamics. She has judged the PRCA Awards and PR Week Awards and was a member of the PRCA Members and Marketing Committee.

Sara’s work in crisis situations includes running initiatives such as the Ken Saro-Wiwa campaign against Shell while at The Body Shop. She worked with senior global figures in politics, industry and journalism from Glenys Kinnock’s office in Strasbourg.

Sara opened and ran a Mexican restaurant, managed her family’s residential home for the elderly and headed up a hotel in St Ives, Cornwall. She studied management for six years.
