Designed to be neither seen nor heard, the new BLANCO by Gutmann Abajo downdraft extraction system provides a discreet solution that's perfect for a modern open-plan kitchen. Ideal for keeping sightlines clear - for example when hobs are installed facing an impressive garden view or sociable dining area - downdraft extractors are increasingly popular in today's multifunctional kitchens. The Abajo sits flush to the worktop and siphons steam and cooking odours away, leaving the room's atmosphere crystal clear.

Part of an award winning* design concept, the Abajo extractor can be ordered on its own - and installed adjacent to any built-in hob - or as part of a complete modular system. The latter can be built up with a choice of one, two or three hob options - wok induction, regular induction and teppanyaki modules. Combined, the hob(s) and extractor(s) forms one elegant unit that fits seamlessly together.

Flexibility is key to the Abajo system, allowing kitchen designers the freedom to offer bespoke solutions. It can be powered via three methods: external motor (the quietest option), internal motor (for easy fitting) or re-circulating motor (where vent access is problematic). Both the Abajo extractor and the matching hobs are available in black or stainless steel for elegant coordination. Additional features include sleek touch controls, whisper quiet 45db operation and two power levels that extract up to 950m³/hr (with integral motor).
