  • Winner is Lough View Integrated Primary school, Belfast, Ireland

  • Second place goes to Milbourne Lodge Primary school, Esher, Surrey

  • Third place goes to Bradley Barton Primary school, Newton Abbot, Devon

Stewart Garden, the gardening division of UK manufacturer Stewart, developed the Stewart Garden Schools campaign in 2012, with the aim to get children across the UK growing their own fruit and vegetables. After great enthusiasm from all the schools involved in the 2013 campaign, Pippa Greenwood proudly launches the Stewart Garden Schools campaign 2014.

The final three schools from the 2013 campaign attended Glee, the garden trade show, where the results were revealed at 11:00 am on Sunday 15 September, 2013. Pippa Greenwood attended the announcement to carry out a photocall with the winning school Lough View Integrated Primary school.

The Belfast school made an outstanding effort and utilised the Stewart Garden Schools kit impressively. They will be spending their £2,000 prize money at Hillmount Garden Centre, Belfast.

Milbourne Lodge Primary School is passionate about growing their own fruit and veg and sharing it with the whole school. Pippa Greenwood visited the school in June 2013 and was impressed at how eager and enthusiastic the children were. They will spend their £1,500 prize money at Garsons Esher Garden Centre, Esher.

Bradley Barton Primary School staff were extremely committed to teaching their students about how to grow their own fruit and veg and did so with enthusiasm. They will spend their £750 prize money at Fermoys Garden Centre, Newton Abbot, Devon.

Leading industry partners are showing their support for the Stewart Garden Schools campaign 2014. Worldwide electronics and manufacturing company, Brother, will supply the schools with GL100 Garden Label printers for the second year running. New to supporting the campaign is the Professional Grower's Choice specialist, Sinclair, who will be supplying their quality compost. Stewart Garden is very pleased to have two great partners for the 2014 campaign.

Following on from the 2013 campaign Pippa Greenwood continues to support the Stewart Garden schools campaign throughout 2014 and will provide the participating schools with a variety of Pippa Greenwood seeds.

Stewart Garden Schools campaign 2014 will see the top ten schools receive prize money, rather than the top three. The winning school will receive£1,000 to be spent at their local garden centre and the nine runners up will each receive £400.

Commenting on the widespread enthusiasm for the second year of the campaign, Richard Butler, CEO at Stewart Garden said, "We're delighted that Stewart Garden Schools has proved so popular. Clearly, grow your own has captured the imagination of young minds across the country".

Stewart Garden will be providing each school with a kit with a wide range of Stewart Garden products: propagators, seed trays, plant pots, troughs and watering cans will make up the Stewart Garden Schools Growing Kit. Promotional materials for participating schools have also been produced, including an informative booklet produced by Pippa Greenwood.

In June 2014 Stewart Garden judges will visit schools and create a shortlist of the top five. These five schools will receive a visit from the judges in June 2014. Pippa Greenwood will join the judging team to nominate the winner.
