Talent in Logistics attracts top transport operations
Some of the foremost transport and logistics employers and best-known training organisations have submitted entries for the Talent in Logistics Awards 2018, while more leading businesses from the industry have also confirmed their support for the event.
Almost 100 different companies, including some of the biggest names in the logistics industry, have submitted nominations for their best individuals, teams and programmes as part of this year’s Talent in Logistics Awards. Transport operators and 3PLs such as Tesco, Lidl, Wincanton, CEVA Logistics, TNT UK Ltd, Unipart, Hasbro, Martin Brower UK, Howard Tenens, JJX Logistics, David Watson Transport and J Mather Logistics have made nominations across the wide range of awards categories, which recognise and celebrate professionals at every level of training and development.
Some of the UK’s largest and most respected logistics training providers have also entered the awards, including FleetSource, Mentor Training, Pertemps Driver Training, System Group and Driver Hire Training.
“The Talent in Logistics Awards are important because they focus the industry’s mind on professionalism and service in this important sector,” says James Clark, Secretary General for BITA (British Industry Truck Association), one of the judges of the Awards for the past two years. “In an award-winning entry, I look for enthusiasm, dedication, articulation, brevity and that special ingredient which sets the entry above others.”
Fellow judge Peter Harvey MBE, Chief Executive of the FLTA (Fork Lift Truck Association) agrees, “I look for somebody that stands out from their peers and goes the extra mile with honesty and integrity – it’s important to recognise those who have excelled.”
Shortlisted entrants for the Talent in Logistics Awards will be revealed at the end of April and winners will be revealed at a black-tie evening on 21st June 2018 at the Telford International Centre. The event will be hosted by Sky TV’s Jeff Stelling, who will announce the winners following a luxury drinks reception and three-course meal. This year’s Awards event will be fundraising for charity partner Brake, the road safety charity which works to achieve a world with zero road deaths and injuries. Following the prestigious awards ceremony, entertainment will be provided by Flash, the most authentic live tribute to Queen who have previously appeared on the BBC programme “as close as it gets”
The awards, and the Talent in Logistics Conference earlier that day, are supported by a number of industry-leading businesses including Linde Training, Pertemps Driver Training, Bis Henderson Academy, , Goldstar Transport, The Resources Group, FLT Training Liverpool, B&B Attachments and UK Training Team.
As well as a great opportunity to celebrate excellence in the transport and logistics industry, the Awards evening is a chance to network with the potential customers and reputable suppliers, including event sponsors and the companies in the running for the Awards.
