Warminster Town Council invites everyone toSpring in the Park!

The flags are out in Town and there's a good reason. On Sunday 6 May from 11am to 4pm a free family fun day is taking place at Warminster's award winning Lake Pleasure Grounds. The occasion will mark the launch of traditional rowing boats to the lake and the Mayor, Cllr Rob Fryer, will be attending to see the fruition of the pledge he made to bring rowing boats back to the lake. Expectations are high for a "flotilla of mayors" out on the boats!

Add to all this the eclectic mix of the traditional, the quirky and the different with a fun filled blend of Morris dancers, Maypole dancing, donkey rides, dog shows, craft stalls and games. Not to mention the brand new addition of a beer tent as well as a stall with the beguiling title of "Gin and Sin". For those who fancy a bite to eat there will also be a BBQ courtesy of local butcher Chris Robbins and the Pavilion Café will be open all day serving delicious food and drinks.

All of the stalls are offering a mix of different activities like the curiously named Human Fruit Machine and the ever popular Splat the Rat. Visitors will have a fantastic mix of items to browse among and buy including jewellery, ranges of beautiful handcrafted products, candles, books, and gifts. There is also plenty for children too with hand knitted items, games, sweets and pocket money toys.

As well as the tempting food for sale on the day, stalls are also offering a smorgasbord of different food including locally produced meat, baked goodies, chilli and BBQ sauces and preserves to take home and sample at leisure.

This family fun day is also a great opportunity to see why the park has been referred to as "a holiday all in one site" with its joyful flowerbeds, natural wildflower meadow and the pièce de résistance, a glorious boating lake.
