Yorkshire Wolds poultry business gains new business from Nottingham based wholesaler

 

An East Yorkshire based poultry business has won new business from a long established fresh food specialist and wholesaler.

 

Middleton-on-the-Wolds businessSoanes Poultrynow supplies a range of its award winning whole and portioned chicken and offal to Danish Crown owned Leivers Brothers.

 

Nottinghambased Leivers Brothers has been supplying meat and poultry toindependent fresh food retailers throughout the Midlands and beyond since it was founded in 1880.

 

Carolyn Pennock, Head of Sales and Marketing at Soanes Poultry said the company is thrilled to be supplying the family run business: "Leivers Brothers ordered our Christmas Cockerels for the first time last year and were so impressed with our quality and customer service that they have continued trading with us."

Through Leivers Brothers, poultry reared in Yorkshire is supplied to outletsthroughout Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire.

 

Leivers Brothers Ltd joined the Danish Crown Group March 2017. Foodservice has been part of Danish Crown's business in the UK since 2014 and the business has succeeded in establishing a stable base in and around London and Manchester. With the acquisition of Leivers Brothers, this base has expanded into the Midlands.

 

Soanes Poultry is a family owned business that has been rearing and preparing chicken for over 70 years. It employs over 90 people and rears five million chickens a year on its Yorkshire Wolds farms and also sells its chicken and game to butchers and independent retailers in Yorkshire and London.
