Anchor Vans demonstrates why it’s the UK's largest van hypermarket

New figures underline van mega-dealer's status as the country's one-stop shop for commercial vans

They are the UK's biggest commercial vehicle hypermarket, and according to newly released figures it is easy to understand why.

The Reading-based 'mega dealership' reveals statistics which highlight its unrivalled position as an offline and online leader in the UK van marketplace.

Riding the crest of the internet wave, Anchor Vans racked up 1.19 million website hits in 2017, an increase on the one million achieved in 2016. Underlining the effectiveness of an efficient sales and marketing operation, a remarkable 10 per cent of all enquiries via telephone, website and social media are converted into sales.

Anchor Vans’ high level of performance is setting the pace in an already fiercely competitive market, and they confirm sales of almost 2,000 vans over the past 12 months.

The commendable workforce behind Anchor Vans' success is 57-strong, across management, sales and marketing and a sizeable service department. Anchor delivers an impressive average of 38 vehicles a week to customers.

Simon Joyce, managing director of Anchor Vans, said: "These figures are a confirmation of our position as the biggest and most popular van hypermarket in the country. Our outstanding sales record is a testament to the work of our dedicated team, and I believe our enhanced value packages have gone a long way to increasing our gross profit per unit, whilst ensuring we keep vehicle prices as low as possible. We will continue our policy of implementing best practices, some of which were previously seen only in the prestige car sector, in the commercial vehicle sector, and believe that with this commitment, Anchor Vans will continue to go from strength to strength."

The figures come at a time when Anchor Vans is readying itself for expansion of its existing site on the A4 near Reading. In regenerating a former landfill site at Padworth, Anchor Vans will secure a permanent home for its valeting centre, plus additional space for transporters to unload away from the busy A4, all while putting a big green tick in its box for corporate social responsibility.

Anchor Vans is approaching its fourth decade as an independent van dealership. The company is listed by the Motor Trader Top 50 in its Top 50 independent UK Motor Dealers.
