CNWL wins work to continue providing addiction services in Brent

For immediate publication

CNWL's Addictions service in Brent along with the drugs charity WDP have won a new contract to continue providing care to people who are struggling from substance misuse.

The service - which runs as the Addiction Recovery and Clinical Centre - was awarded a four year contract with options for further extensions by Brent Borough Council.

The Addiction Recovery and Clinical Centre (ARCC), which operates out of the Willesden Centre for Health in Harlesden Road, helps people in Brent who want to break a cycle of addiction to substances such as heroin, club drugs, other types of stimulants or long term alcohol addiction.

It includes the Brent Clinical Prescribing Team; the Recovery Day Programme; a Care Planned Counselling Service; and Peer Support Practitioners and Peer Recovery Workers.

Set to go live in April this year, the contract continues the partnership work with the drug and alcohol charity WDP.

Service Director Jody Lombardini said: "Well done to the team. Their success in winning this contract is testament to the great work our Addictions Service delivers in the Borough of Brent."

WDP chairman Yasmin Batliwala said: "We are delighted to be working in Brent alongside our partner CNWL.  This presents WDP with an exciting opportunity for our talented staff to provide high quality care for local residents with drug and alcohol related problems."
