Leeds container services firm invests

to boost productivity

Following a Europe-wide trade mission to assess the heavy lifting marketplace, Northern Containers has invested in the latest equipment to improve its materials handling capabilities and drive productivity.

The company was due to replace one of the machines in its fleet and a SANY double lift empty container handler is now in service at its Leeds base.

Part of the Ace Group, Northern Containers has 25 years of experience in the shipping container industry and specialises in the sale of new and used containers. It also operates a UK-wide container hire service, provides depot and self-storage facilities and carries out conversions and fabrications.

Cooper Specialised Handling, SANY's exclusive distributor in the UK, supported the directors of Northern Containers by hosting a visit to the manufacturer's European headquarters near Dusseldorf in Germany.

Sean Birdsall, managing director of Northern Containers, said: "Our operation demands quality equipment that we can rely on day in, day out and we were impressed with SANY's manufacturing facilities, the build quality of the trucks and the high standard specification.

To ensure the equipment would meet the container services company's needs Cooper incorporated a series of options at no extra cost to enhance operator comfort and promote safety.
