Wolds family diversification business earns double silver in agricultural awards

 

The team behind a Yorkshire Wolds rapeseed oil business is celebrating after winning two silver awards at the British Farming Awards.

 

Thixendale based Breckenholme Trading Companywon the awards for the Diversification Innovator of the Year - Large and Family Farming Business of the Year for their Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil and Charlie and Ivy's businesses.

 

The winners of the Morrisons supported awards were announced at a dinner that took place at Birmingham's National Conference Centre and was attended by 700 guests.

 

Marketing Manager Jennie Palmer said: "It's a huge honour and a real credit to our hardworking team to have been presented with these awards.

 

"The number of innovative businesses and forward thinking individuals involved in the industry is staggering and to be included in that group is a real privilege."

 

Emma Penny, group head of content for Briefing Media, the company that organised the event, said: "The 14 awards recognise the innovation and determination that is present in today's ever changing and challenging farming industry.

"I would like to thank everyone who entered and congratulate all the finalists in what has been a fantastic and inspiring eight-month campaign to find our 2017 winners."

 

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil and Charlie and Ivy's products are available from farm shops, delis, markets and independent retailers in Yorkshire and festivals and food shows nationwide.
