A limited number of tickets are still available for an event that's set to provide the ideal opportunity for business leaders to network with top names from the housebuilding and retrofit sectors.

Combining the Association of Environment Conscious Building (AECB) National Conference and the International Refurbishment Symposium, Eco Connect London will also feature a range of high-profile speakers and showcase a number of initiatives aimed at tackling the UK housing crisis.

Conference Director, David Pierpoint says that it will provide the opportunity for delegates to meet face-to-face with decision makers from a broad cross-section of the industry, including construction, social housing, design and retrofit professionals.

"The primary aim of the event is to move forward the debate on how best to meet current and future housing needs, but it also provides the ideal opportunity to meet new contacts whilst proving plenty of inspiration for potential business opportunities," he explained.

"Thanks to an impressive line up of speakers and a packed programme of topical presentations, Eco Connect has certainly generated a lot of interest and we expect this to increase further in the final run up to the event on September 15."

The event venue has also generated plenty of excitement, with the recently refurbished headquarters of the Institution of Engineering and Technology in Savoy Place, London standing as a prime example of design excellence.

So too has the line up of speakers and delegates, includingDr Howard Porter, the Chair of the government's ‘Each Home Counts' review of the domestic retrofit sector. During the International Refurbishment Symposium, he'll be joining a ‘Big Debate' session before delivering the closing remarks.

Following a welcome to the conference by Andrew Simmonds, CEO of the AECB, other speakers include Paula Higgins, Founder and Chief Executive of the consumer organisation, Homeowners Alliance and Bevan Jones, Managing Director, Sustainable Homes.MeanwhileToby Lloyd, Head of Policy at Shelter will highlight the current reliance on speculative house building and spotlight the new Civic Housing Campaign.

Professor Ronald Rovers, Owner Director, SBScentre (Sustainable Building and Urban Sustainability) and Dr Gavin Killip, Researcher at Environmental Change Institute (ECI), University of Oxford will be helping to lead the debates during theInternational Refurbishment Symposium.
