North Yorkshire specialist grass business take on new recruit

A North Yorkshire-based alternative flooring specialist has recruited a sales and marketing executive to look after its growing customer base.

Sophie Moss from Eastrington near Howden has joined WowGrass, the Thorganby based business that supplies real, soil-free grass to the events industry nationwide.

Sophie is the first point of contact for customer enquiries and is responsible for writing and implementing the marketing strategy for the real grass that is grown on felt so that it can be used indoors and outdoors, without creating mess.

With a degree in design, Sophie previously worked for fashion designer Amanda Wakeley in London and was employed in purchasing before joining WowGrass.

"WowGrass is such a unique, innovative and versatile product and there are so many opportunities to grow the brand. We get to be involved in some very exciting events and prestigious installations all over the country and I'd like to see us doing more," Sophie said.

Sophie will also be managing WowGrass' online channels via the website and social media, and working on all aspects of marketing for the business.

"I will be looking at upcoming trends and generating new ideas to get the WowGrass name out there. I love the fact that it gives me the opportunity to channel some of my creative side and my design skills again, which is brilliant.

"It would be fantastic to see WowGrass build on its fantastic reputation and become an even bigger brand within the events industry, and perhaps expand overseas."

WowGrass managing director Stephen Fell said: "We are delighted to welcome Sophie to our team of dedicated WowGrass staff.

"We're sure that she will make an impact within our marketing and sales team as we focus on working with more events customers in locations in the UK and beyond."

WowGrass was developed by turf specialists, Lindum Turf as a living, rollable and soil-free grass that can be used to transform events, exhibitions, venues, and film, theatre and TV sets. WowGrass isreal grass that is grown onto a felt mat made from recycled British textiles and over the past months, the business has worked with a variety of high profile brands including Marc Jacob's Daisy, Glenfiddich and Waitrose.
