Further onsite expansion brings reassurance to Marston's

Midlands based brewery Marston's, have expanded their facilities once again, with further help from the temporary building specialists Spaciotempo.

Back in 2015, Marston's saw storage capacity on site at their Burton Brewery increase by 45%. Spaciotempo designed and manufactured four bespoke temporary buildings measuring 30m x 85m on a 6m eave, that's a total of 10,200sqm. However, this wasn't enough for the brewery giants as they continue to expand their range of products.

Dan Barker, Area Sales Manager at Spaciotempo commented: "We have a long-standing relationship with Marston's and when they needed to increase their onsite storage space once again, we knew we would be able to help. Customers often considertemporary buildingsas a short-term solution but Marston's have shown this is not always the case"

The brewery required two more 2550sqm temporary warehouse structures providing a further 54,895sqft to their current semi-permanent facilities. These would be used to protect up to 14 million bottles, 15,000 pallets, of beer from adverse weather conditions. While also enabling constant access for forklifts across all six Spaciotempo warehouses.

Dan Barker said: "Businesses often require a quick, cost-effective solution when theirproduction facilitiesneed increasing, without the outlay of a permanent building. Due to Spaciotempo's collaborative and flexible approach, Marston's could expand their breathing space with confidence and trust. After knowing, we provide high standard, quality assured warehouses, the brewery could hand the work over and confidently get on with day-to-day operations."

All six of Marston's temporary warehouses are identical, with single sheet steel cladding, guttering and electric roller shutters doors. Because the warehouse was storing bottled beer, one of the most important aspects of the structure was to provide a climate controlled environment, regardless of the weather. Therefore, Spaciotempo's unique ‘thermo' roof and gable was installed. It has a PVC polyester membrane envelope which is inflated with a low-pressure automatic pump. By reducing heat loss or gain to the temporary storage building and minimising condensation this Neivalubuilding was the ideal solution for Marston's.

Emma Gilleland, Director of Brewing added: "We've seen massive growth in the take-home market over the last couple of years, growing more than 10% in the last 12 months alone. More people than ever are enjoying a beer at home, so we keep ensuring supply keeps up with demand. These newstorage facilitiesgive us a huge amount of extra warehouse capacity for all our new stock. Spaciotempo has played a key role in helping Marston's to grow as a business. They've provided a quality, cost-effective, long-term solution that meets our needs perfectly. The beauty oftemporary buildingsis that they are flexible. Which enables us to manage our storage requirements while also continuing to work in harmony, optimising efficiency and performance."
