ALRA, the Academy Of Live and Recorded Arts, have teamed up with Raileasy, the split ticketing specialists, in an innovative money saving scheme.

S
plit tickets enable rail goers to save significant amounts by breaking their journey down into separate legs where the aggregate cost can often be a lot cheaper than buying a "through" ticket.  They often travel on the same train and at the same time but just carry a few extra tickets.

ALRA are unusual because they have two centres 200 miles apart in South West London and Wigan, Lancashire.  With teaching staff and students regularly travelling between the two sites their expenditure on rail travel is higher than most drama schools.

"We were eager to find a way of keeping our costs and under control and the Trainsplit solution is proving to be really helpful" says Adrian Hall, ALRA's Principal.  "It's great that we are reducing our own transport costs but the scheme is also available to students so they can use it to save money when they are visiting friends and families at weekends or during the holidays".

Kip Parker, Raileasy's Head Of Business Development said "It's great that we are helping ALRA and their students to save money but the ticket savings are also available to potential students visiting ALRA for auditions or open days.  I know from personal experience that attending a round of auditions can be a very costly exercise so any savings can help".

Over the past couple of years Raileasy have found an average additional split saving of just under 30% and, if the tickets are bought in combination with, say, a 16-25 travelcard rail travel can be even cheaper.

Notes For Editors.
