Unbeatable quality and legendary performance

With the retail sector such a demanding environment in terms of design, finish and timing, shopfitters need products that will perform precisely and consistently which is where the legendary CaberWood MDF range plays best.

Trusted by a great deal of shopfitting professionals, CaberWood MDF is a truly versatile board that's in a league of its own when it comes to great finishing, fantastic holding and impressive routing. Renowned for its consistent density and enhanced smooth surface, it's ideal for a multitude of shopfitting applications such as displays, counters, boxing in and wall partitions. Engineered from millions of high quality fibres, the consistently high density and internal bond strength not only mean there's no splintering or chipping, it also allows the most intricate of edge profiling, sawing, drilling and surface routing to be achieved with minimal finishing. The benefits of this consistent density extends further to its excellent holding ability for screws and fastenings so that a project's longevity is assured. Ready to paint from the word go, the smooth, stable surface of CaberWood MDF makes it an ideal substrate for surfacing with paper foils, decorative paper and veneers. CaberWood MDF can be treated as a high quality timber - which comes without the inherent defects of knots and grains. As well as a wide range of thicknesses and sizes to choose from, CaberWood MDF is available in five different grades to suit the application: from the lightweight ‘Trade' for general purpose joinery, through the premium grade ‘Pro', for high quality finishing, to ‘Industrial', for advanced routing and profiling. Moisture Resistant (MR) versions of ‘Trade' and ‘Pro' complete the range for use in occasionally wet or humid conditions.

Norbord has been producing MDF for over 50 years and was the first producer of MDF in the UK where the company has remained a leader in product development and manufacturing ever since. The Cowie factory produces MDF in a variety of grades and in thicknesses from 6 mm to 35 mm with the bulk of its production being consumed within the UK where it is used extensively in the shopfitting, construction and furniture industries.
