London glamping site offers unique mid-week corporate retreats

PRESS RELEASE

London glamping site offers unique mid-

week corporate retreats

Home Farm Glamping, London's nearest glamping site, is offering a new style of mid-week corporate event hosting for city firms.

Linklaters LLP have used Home Farm Glamping, which is located in farm land in Elstree just five minutes from the end of the Jubilee and Northern Lines, as their corporate retreat, taking 60 colleagues from the city on the tube to the glamping base in Hertfordshire.

Elisabeth Johnson, Managing Associate, Linklaters LLP, says the event was a world removed from their normal office environment. ‘We had a fantastic working event day and overnight stay at Home Farm. The journey up from the city was very easy and people had a variety of routes and options (two tube lines and the overland from Farringdon), which was really handy.

‘We arrived for a relaxed lunch and then had an afternoon of team-building activities outdoors, including an organised treasure hunt with an app specifically developed for Home Farm and the surrounding areas.

‘We were all stunned to see the beautiful and varied countryside around Home Farm, so close to London. We took advantage of the lake, woods and open fields for our team challenge and ball games. The amazing setting, the help-yourself drinks and food, and the general atmosphere really gave the team a chance to relax and spend time with colleagues in a world totally removed from the formal office environment where we spend our every days.'

In the evening, the Linklaters team were treated to a banquet in an Indian-style marquee, with a hog roast.

Elisabeth adds: ‘We had the run of Home Farm and it was a great setting for a completely unique corporate event. It was good fun, with lots of opportunities to get to know people in a setting that thankfully wasn't the usual dreary event space in ahotel. Home Farm is the only private hire venue with overnight accommodation that has access from both tube and train lines that we managed to locate for our corporate retreat.

‘Jess, who runs Home Farm Glamping, couldn't have been more accommodating or hospitable - she took delivery of all our supplies (being able to order in drinks from supermarkets was really helpful for budget management), even stocking up the fridge with drinks ahead of our arrival, and also cooking us a delicious breakfast the next morning before we jumped in cabs to the stations to head back into work.'

Home Farm Glamping offers event space corporate retreats during April and September. With three yurts and nine bell tents on site, bbqs and campfires next to each tent, fine dining options, open air yoga classes and acres of land and forest to explore, Home Farm has become an essential escape from the city.

Jess Allen-Beck, 32, who herself was a lawyer in the city before setting Home Farm Glamping, says: ‘People come to Home Farm wearing their suits, clutching their blackberries and mobile phones. By the end of their stay, they are toasting marshmallows around campfires, doing yoga, and are relaxed. People are very inspired by the glamping experience and Home Farm is a real escape from the city. Home Farm is there to enable people to disconnect in order to reconnect, and corporate retreats are a great way to do this.'

Home Farm Glamping offers mid-week stays for friends, family, colleagues, couples, or solo visits.
