The story of Essex Business Women and Wine

The Essex Business woman who loved the wine so much that she bought the vineyard!

  • What do you give your clients for a memorable gift that will make them smile, relax and enjoy?

  • Who wouldn't love to have their own vineyard, producing award winning wine, just a few miles from home?

The Essex Business Women's Experience is now in its third year.   It is theonlyExpo in Essex for women at all stages of business.

Rosemary Cunningham, founder says "I took a group of friends to New Hall for a wine tasting and loved the whole atmosphere there.  The wine has won so many awards, the valley is just gorgeous and the vineyard is now managed by a team of amazing women! So, I rented a row of vines for the business and we can't wait to share it with our clients at the Essex Business Women's Experience on 16thJune in Southend!"

"The EBWE is the event I want to go to.  There's nothing dry or boring there.  We showcase amazing Essex women business owners on our 65 stands, have all the resources to start your own business.  Plus we have great food, fascinating, inspiring speakers and it's by the seaside!

This year ourkeynote speakersincludeJaney Lee Grace from Radio 2,Kubi Springerwho has worked with the likes of Justin Timberlake and Rolls Royce andSarah Arrow, an Essex lady who is also an international blogging expert.

Businesses set up by women contributed £3.5bn to the UK economy and created 77,000 jobs in 2015. With London being announced as the third best city for female entrepreneurs of course Essex is hot on its heels.

More women each year are choosing to have the flexibility of working for themselves and setting up their own business. Having been in business for over 20 years Rosemary Cunningham realised that Business women thrive when they are able to collaborate and support each other. Her idea for the Essex Business Women's Experience in 2015 was to help showcase other women and it just keeps growing. There were over 400 attendees at the Park Inn Palace hotel in Southend last June and this year is set to have over 500 attendees. The vision of being able help women get started in business as well as showcase more established businesses with a focus on collaboration and support has taken off.
