St George’s Day just behind us and English Wine Week starting in May 2017,
there’s never been a better time to celebrate some of the country’s amazing
local produce. Stopham Vineyard in the

Cornish
Mackerel with Stopham Estate Pinot Blanc (£13.50)
With notes of pear, melon and grapefruit this
white wine has a fresh acidity that makes it the ideal accompaniment to fresh
or smoked oily fish, such as Cornish mackerel, sardines and shellfish. Ideal
for fans of Sancerre looking to taste something new.

English Asparagus with Stopham Estate Pinot
Gris (£13.50)
Asparagus is mostly grown across the South
of England and St George’s Day at the end of April traditionally marks the
start of the harvest. This richer and sweeter white wine with flavours of
apricot and peach provides the perfect match to enjoy before Asparagus season
ends in June.

Barbecued
Lamb with Stopham Estate Rosé (£12.50)
British lamb is among the best in the
world, with meat farmed right across England, from the Pennines to
Dartmoor. Slightly dry with the taste of
crunchy red fruit and aroma of summer berries, a cold glass of this Rosé makes
a surprisingly good accompaniment to tasty lamb dishes.
