Cargo handling benefits

Incorporating time-lapse footage of the five-day build, Cooper Specialised Handling and Associated British Ports (ABP) have created a video highlighting the arrival of the Mantsinen 200M at the Port of Garston.

The 200M is the largest hydraulic crane currently in operation and ABP's machine is the first to go into service in the UK.

Demonstrating the Mantsinen 200M's speed and precision, which will help to improve productivity at the port, the video outlines why the crane is the most suitable cargo handling solution at the Port of Garston.

Greater energy-efficiency will deliver significant cost savings at ABP's Garston operation, while the fact that the crane is built on wheels, rather than tracks, makes it more manoeuvrable.

Investment and expansion

ABP is expanding its business and improving the service it offers to customers throughout the North West of England. The new crane is a major part of ABP's investment in the facility, which is now able to handle any vessel that can pass through the on-site lock, and is set to play a key role in the company's strategic development plans to make the port more competitive.

With its award-winning HybriLift technology, the Mantsinen 200M affords ABP industry-leading capabilities at the Port of Garston. Importantly, it will enable the facility to be more flexible going forward, equipping it to deal with the economic uncertainties surrounding the UK's Brexit deal.
