Norm's remit is to set a standard of quality in the UI (user interface) and UX (user experience) designs of Pervacio's products based on the principles of visual design, emotional design, human sciences, communication and usability.

Pervacio's CEO Sanjay Kanodia said: "We are delighted to have Norm on board. His vast experience is a huge asset to Pervacio and by mentoring our products team, educating them about user centered design principles and giving them the benefit of his UX knowledge he will help us to enhance our brand through quality products and purpose-designed customer experiences."

Many will be familiar with his work from this era, as he developed the first graphical user interface (Xerox ‘Star') including the ‘hamburger' icon that is intrinsic to current apps and websites.

On leaving Xerox in 1982 Norm embarked on a consulting career in the emerging field of computer-human interaction and visual communication design. Retained as IBM's corporate design consultant for UI and UX design for 10 years, he has been involved in the design of numerous leading edge user interfaces for a broad range of US and international clients, working on projects spanning diverse industries and product groups.

Named as innovator and inventor on 29 design patents relating to user interface design for Xerox, Sun Microsystems, IBM and Samsung, Norm has also won numerous industry awards for product design. He works as a lecturer with universities, design conferences and special interest groups and has served as a juror at international design competitions.

Operating out of Pervacio's headquarters in Dallas, USA, Norm's primary responsibility is to ensure that the company meets customer needs and exceeds expectations by creating UI designs that are essentially useful, usable and efficient.

He said: "My new role with Pervacio involves balancing ground-breaking design concepts with business realities, and I relish the challenge of applying the principles of design thinking to existing products that have already been released and new products in various stages of development."

In an increasingly technologically advanced world, more and more end users, including carriers, manufacturers, retailers, warehouses and insurance underwritersare relying on Pervacio'sRevolution platform for the end-to-end management of mobile devices irrespective of network, device type, operating platform or where the device is in its usage lifecycle.
