Spaciotempo focuses on people, product and performance for growth

With more and more businesses turning to temporary buildings as the UK continues to battle a chronic shortage of warehouse space, one specialist that bridges the gap between temporary and permanent structures has seen sales increase last year as a result. So much so that 11 new members of staff have been recruited to help the company meet demand.

Midlands-based Spaciotempo, the only company in the UK to manufacture and install its own structures, expanded operations last year. The company invested £4m into new product innovations, including the launch of the Oxygen temporary building which combines high-end aesthetics with robust construction. It has also introduced a range of innovative new products including LED energy efficient lighting and an improved and quick to install guttering system, all intended to offer customers greater choice, to save the money, and ensure quicker installations.

Scott Jameson, Managing Director, commented: "We have seen a trend of sales growth at Spaciotempo, which began five years ago and, in particular, saw our hire fleet side of the business grow by 10 per cent. This is showing that firms see the benefits of temporary structures that not only offer a solution for fixing short term space problems, but are also structures that are built to last. Many companies are opting for temporary structures as opposed to permanent on account of significantly reduced building costs, speed of construction and fewer planning challenges to face. Our strong year last year has resulted in our need to expand the team, and we are delighted to welcome our 11 new recruits and we look forward to an equally as good, if not better, 2017."

Providing temporary buildings for a wide range of sectors including manufacturing and distribution, education and leisure, Spaciotempo has its eyes firmly focused on expanding operations further in 2017 in line with demand and continually looks at innovation as a key component to success.

The company has extended its choice to customers, increasing the variety of products and the flexibility to choose a full service where required. Spaciotempo offers more options for doors, windows, flooring, HVAC, racking and provides full internal fit-out.

Scott Jameson continued: "It's critical that we evolve our business, not just expanding in terms of our operational capability or increasing our product portfolio, but also looking at innovation from within to continuously improve our operations and, more importantly, adding greater value to the service we offer to our customers. Whilst we have increased the amount of installation teams out in the field, we felt it a priority to separate aftersales service and care from the day-to-day operations and have set up a dedicated department now wholly focused on supporting our customers from the completion of an installation and for as long as they need us. We've increased capacity in our in-house CAD design department, marketing team and sales support. And, we've upgraded our warranties, making our aftersales commitment to customers all the more stronger."

The appointments have enabled Spaciotempo to increase its capability in operations so all structures are installed by an experienced and skilled workforce and has introduced a dedicated Maintenance and Customer Care team which is on the road supporting customers with maintenance inspections, repairs, small specification changes. This offers customers peace of mind and confidence from a quick response team. It means that Spaciotempo now provides more sales support and marketing - all designed to support customers nationwide at every stage of their journey from bespoke technical drawings, site visits to having sales managers covering the whole of the UK and Ireland, through to enhanced project co-ordination, operations and aftersales care.

Scott concluded: "2016 was a great year for Spaciotempo, winning contracts with many recognisable companies such as Triumph Motors, Pinewood Studios, Countrywide Farmers, The Wilkins Group and many more. We've worked with schools, airports, ports, manufacturers, logistics and catering companies and installations have been tailor-made to requirements by our in-house design team. What is clear is that there is an emerging picture evolving where companies, whatever the sector, see semi permanent buildings as a real, cost effective and sustainable option to increase space. We are confident more and more will follow their lead, especially if rental costs continue to rise and warehouse space continues to be in short supply."
