The generosity of staff at, and customers of,
Stafford's largest landlord has been praised by a charity that supports bereaved parents and families.

Over the past 12 months, a year that saw Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) celebrate its tenth birthday, a series of fundraisers and community events raised £3,000 for A Child of Mine.

On receiving a cheque from the housing association, the founder of the charity, Gayle Routledge, said:"It has been incredible to work with SARH over the past 12 months, we are all very grateful for the donation and really appreciate the hard work and effort everyone has put in to raise this incredible sum.

"The money raised will be put towards a playgroup to fund parents and their young children who have lost a child,"explained Gayle who lost her ownson to a rare form of childhood cancer.

In previous years, SARH has supported a number of other charities, including the Childhood Cancer Parents Alliance, Eclipse Child Bereavement Service and the Donna Louise Trust. The organisation set to benefit from fundraising from the housing association in 2017 is set to be announced shortly.

Karen Armitage, SARH Chief Executive, commented: "We are delighted to have been able to raise an astonishing amount of money for such a worthy cause and it demonstrates the commitment of everyone at SARH to support the communities we serve.

"Over the last year our staff and customers have taken part in a car wash, bikeathon, pilates, cake sales, a cream tea event, regular dress down days and a charity raffle that was held as part of our 10thbirthday celebrations."
