Richard Hadfield showcases his fantastic vocals as he

launches his solo career at The Piano works in Farringdon

After achieving international success, a UK number one selling album, sell-out world tour and winning Britain's Got Talent with the vocal group Collabro, Richard Hadfield, 23, launched his solo career this weekend atThe Piano Works,London's only non-stop live music venue.

Staged at the last minute for his loyal supporters who missed out on his debut solo gig at the Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho on Saturday, Richard hosted a more intimate gig at The Piano Works in Farringdon yesterday, Sunday 11^thDecember.

With a mix of jazz and swing classics, songs from musical theatre blended with some of our most favourite Christmas standards, fans were treated to some specially arranged renditions including a soulful take on the Sound of Music classic ‘My Favourite Things' and, arguably the highlight of the evening, was Hadfield's fabulous jazzy rendition of The Phantom of the Opera which was ingeniously interwoven with The Pink Panther.

Famous for its fun and vibrant atmosphere, The Piano Works has been recently described by the Daily Express as the ‘hottest club in London' and included in the Evening Standard's top 50 bars in the capital. Alongside his four-piece bandconsisting of Mario Ellis, Rowan Hudson, JJ Stilwell and Tom Aiton; Hadfield who is currently writing his first solo album, performed within the 400 capacity modern industrial space created the atmosphere of a jazz club.

Funny, charming and hugely charismatic, the young singer held his own with winning executions of traditional hits including Moon River, Witch Craft and Frank Sinatra's Coffee Song showing the true depth of his talent, silky vocals and endearing personality.

The event was the first of its kind for Piano Works which stages live music seven days a week performed by fabulous musicians whose repertoire is determined by audience request. Although serial restaurateur, Alan Lorrimer, who is famed for his concept clubs and eateries, is committed to supporting musical talent and already hosts emerging talent night every Tuesday, this was the first gig for established talent.

The quality of Hadfield's vocals made for an entertaining show which put everyone in the mood for Christmas. The charismatic crooner is tipped as the British Michael Bublé of the future and the future certainly looks very bright for this young star who during his performance alluded to a record deal and an interest in performing on the West End stage.

Richard Hadfield is certainly a name to watch out for in 2017.
