Sunday night the Orton Hall Hotel,
Peterborough hosted the fabulously glamorous Spice Queen, Bollywood style
Cookbook launch.
Black tie meets Bollywood certainly brought
out the bling at this exclusive event.
Parveen’s book is dedicated to her mum and
is full of traditional, authentic Indian recipes.
The Asian Nigella Lawson, Parveen, was
centre stage performing Bollywood dances and proudly demonstrating her
wonderful cooking skills too.
David Sanders, Mayor of Peterborough
attended and in introducing Parveen, said “I have known Parveen for many years,
I have always been inspired by her dedication and passion and I know that this
cookbook will be a huge success for her.”
Parveen has been teaching Indian cooking
for decades and this book brings together her skills combined with anecdotes of
her family life.
Alongside the book Parveen has created her
original Spice Bags, which compliment her recipes and demystify the art of
Indian cooking.
Parveen said “I am so passionate about this
book, it has taken many years to create but I know that it will help people
find a love of Indian cooking. People
are no longer happy with packet’s and jars and are returning to good,
wholesome, home cooking. As many of my
recipes are vegetarian & vegan friendly and the spice bags are gluten free
too, I know that this book has something for everyone.”
