Local people in the West Midlands area are being offered a number of new yoga classes based on a gentle yet powerful form of classical yoga.

The Satyananda Yoga Centre in Birmingham is offering a new classopen to anyone regardless of age, fitness, ability or experience and is a great way for anyone to improve their emotional and physical fitness.

Sue Duffy, Satyananda Yoga practitioner since 1988 said: "I have been teaching weekly classes in this yoga tradition for the past five years and I am delighted to introduce new ones to the community.

"The class is open to anyone wanting to start yoga, including those debilitated by illness. It has been carefully scheduled to extend yoga's many benefits to parents before the afternoon school run."

The new Satyananda Yoga beginners' class is held at the Birmingham Yoga Studio, situated within Birmingham Buddhist Centre. The class will be running in term time on Mondays 1 - 2:30pm at a cost of £7 per class, payable half-termly.

Sue continued: "The aim is to develop awareness of the physical body and listening to its feedback brings increased strength and flexibility in muscles and joints. Students often report that they find this style of yoga valuable for stress reduction and an aid to more restful sleep."

If you would like to get involved or find out any more information about the classes please contact Sue Duffy on 07719278192 or emailsue@sankalpayoga.co.uk
