Aubrey Logan Releases Debut Album "Impossible"

Aubrey Logan, a renowned singer and instrumentalist who is critically acclaimed for her club and concert appearances around the world including collaborations with Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox, announces the release of her debut single, "Pistol," later this month.

"Pistol" is the first single to be released from Logan's forthcoming debut album,Impossible. "We titled itImpossiblebecause so many people were saying it couldn't be done, that we couldn't pull together an album with such a diversity of styles and genres." Indeed, works on the album range from those of Logan's original compositions to the hip-hop of MC Hammer and the operatic melodies of Georges Bizet.

Striking a vibe not unlike the superspy soundtracks of the ‘60s (think "Bond, James Bond"), "Pistol" targets Logan's "sassy-chick" side, according to the artist herself, who co-wrote the song withPam Sheyne, who is known for writing the Christina Aguilera hit "Genie in a Bottle" and is particularly known for painting lyrical canvases with vivid words and phrases.

"She's a lyrical genius," says Logan. "Pam challenged me to write more from my feminine side. ‘Pistol' was inspired by the fun that's found in a great relationship, business or personal, and shooting straight to achieve it." "Pistol" was recorded in Pasadena, CA, at the studio of producerDaleBeckerwho brought together an ensemble of musicians to complement Logan's vocal and instrumental styling.

Featured areTroy Welstadon keyboards,Steven Solomonon guitar,Guillermo Guzmanon bass, andDave Johnstoneon drums. "To create a007vintage sound, and even incorporate some of that ‘60s psychedelia, Dale and I layered the vocal and instrumental tracks," says Logan. "That way, I was able to do my own back-ups and add trombone harmonies." Even Johnstone's drums were layered for a surround effect, and Welstad brings together characteristic keyboard sounds of the period.

Remix on "Pistol" for U.K. release was by Red Triangle and its principals Rick Parkhouse and George Tizzard. Among the credits of Red Triangle are projects by popular artists Cheryl, Charlie Puth, The Struts, Union J, and 5 Seconds of sumer.

Logan is currently concluding a national U.S. tour as a featured artist with Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox before she performs five dates as a leader in the U.K.
