Hoppecke Industrial Batteries is to seek the views of its employees on making the business even more successful than it is already - and in the process will help to improve transport in developing countries around the world.

The leading specialist in industrial battery systems and the largest battery manufacturer in European ownership, Hoppecke is to carry out an employee survey so that it can build on the good work that has been done over recent years to turn the company's fortunes around.

In 2016 especially, Hoppecke's staff have helped to expand the company's markets and improve the level of service offered to existing customers. Now, through the Best Companies survey which aims to measure and improve employee engagement levels, Hoppecke will look to build on its reputation as one of the best companies to work for in the industry. It will do this by recognising people's strengths and listening to their input so that everyone in the company is moving forward with the same goals and the same level of enthusiasm and sense of involvement in the business.

For every survey completed, Hoppecke will donate to Transaid, an international development charity that identifies, champions, implements and shares local transport solutions for poor people in developing countries. The organisation seeks "a world where transport contributes fully to a better quality of life and is accessible to all in Africa and across the developing world".

Hoppecke UK's Human Resources Manager Lynne Morris says: "Doing this Best Companies survey is a great opportunity for us to look at the ways we can improve how we operate and become more successful as a result of that."

Jason Howlett, Regional Managing Director of Western & Northern Europe, adds: "We think we are the best employer in the industry but we want to get even better. We can only do that if we involve our employees in the process and ask them what they would like us to change and improve. At the same time, we want to support the vital work that Transaid is doing in improving people's lives around the world through better local transport solutions."
