BARNSTAPLE TOWN CENTRE MANAGEMENT ANNOUNCES CHRISTMAS SWITCH ON LINE-UP
Thousands are expected to visit Barnstaple on Saturday 19th November for the Christmas Light Switch-on.
This year is expected to one of the most exciting yet, thanks to a grant from the Big Lottery Fund’s Celebrate programme, the button will be pressed by a group of local community heroes - people that have been chosen because of the special work they do, nominated by friends and family in partnership with The Gazette.
The nominations have been flooding in showing off how many charitable people are in the area. The chosen heroes will be revealed on 9th November.
Sponsored by a team of local businesses, including Asda, The Gazette, Petroc, Stagecoach and M&E Alarms,the light switch-on promises a party for the whole family.
Local radio station The Voice will be there from 1.30 pm to provide entertainment whilst being accompanied by a family fun fair on The Strand.
The Christmas Light Switch is a great way to start the festive season and marks the beginning of Barnstaple’s Christmas celebrations with late night shopping every Thursday until the big day.

6.00pm Community Heroes turn the lights-on

Join all the performers and the Barnstaple Concert Band to sing some
Christmas favourites.
