Kuehne + Nagel improves driver efficiency and skill with RTITB Driver CPC training
Kuehne + Nagel, one of the world’s leading logistics providers, has worked with Driver CPC Consortium RTITB to train 2,500 LGV drivers, helping to maintain their high standards and efficiency.
“For Kuehne + Nagel UK, our in-house Driver CPC training is essential not only for legal compliance, but also to ensure we maintain the high standards we are committed to,” says Robert Hollier, KNDL Operations Training Manager. “RTITB Driver CPC training is engaging and innovative and gives us the security of knowing we have a fleet of skilled, professional drivers.”
Kuehne + Nagel had a challenge of training 2,500 drivers with minimal impact on the business. Legally, their drivers must complete 35 hours of Driver CPC training within a 5-year period in order to retain their certification, equating to 17,500 hours of training per year or 87,500 across the 5-year cycle. The next training cycle is due to end in September 2019.
Despite the need to carry out demanding training on a large scale, the support from RTITB enabled the process of delivering the courses to be simplified, even with ongoing refresher training needs. As Driver CPC training from RTITB can be tailored, Kuehne + Nagel is able to deliver bespoke training reflective of the drivers’ overall experience and existing challenges faced within the business while remaining in line with the company ethos.
