VIPOLE reveals powerful encryption admin tools

The adoption of cloud services by businesses appears to be here to stay. Yet many organisations are being held back by security fears and inflexible management controls in the solutions deployed. VIPOLE for business administration tools, highlighted at this month's IP Expo in London, offer a radical new approach to the management of secure cloud-based messaging and collaboration.

Research from the SANS Institute released this month and other industry surveys indicate that over 70% of businesses are now in the cloud, with storage, collaboration applications and communications platforms accounting for the overwhelming majority of deployments. Over 70% of respondents said they employed a hybrid of public and private cloud services, and most accept that the convenience, efficiency and productivity benefits of cloud solutions makes a compelling business case in favour of adoption. But serious concerns over security persist.

A poll of the 250,000 members of the Information Security Community on LinkedIn, a staggering 90% of respondents said that they were very or moderately concerned with public cloud security. Encryption of data at rest and in transit is the most common response to cloud security vulnerabilities, but this brings with it further concerns such as the ability to fulfil compliance obligations and a lack of visibility making it harder to detect data breach incidents. Restrictive enterprise-wide encryption policies may also increase the likelihood of employees resorting to informal collaboration and messaging tools, thereby introducing another risk factor as potentially sensitive data is transferred across the public cloud.

VIPOLE for business cloud and on-premise solutions allow highly granular control over the encryption and communication settings of individual users. At IP Expo, the firm demonstrated its unique ability to control how users can access, store and process sensitive data, and how encryption is deployed across an organisation. Using these tools, administrators can create "networks within networks"; an encryption policy that can still allow access to specific data for compliance purposes while maintaining an extremely high level of security against both external and internal threats.

VIPOLE for business was designed to be very easy to use with a shallow learning curve for employees. Its simple and intuitive instant messaging system allows real time communications between employees, including voice and video chat. Files can be shared across devices and are automatically synced to ensure they are always up to date. All data in transit and at rest in VIPOLE is fully and strongly end-to-end encrypted. Furthermore, administrators have very powerful tools at their disposal to manage access, and even sensitive data on remote devices, making it an effective solution in mobile workforce applications.

Also uniquely among cloud-based messaging, video chat, file sharing and collaboration tools, VIPOLE is available as both a Saas and on-premise solution, allowing scalability and complete versatility in how the solution is employed. More information is available at www.vipole.com
