Unique control room technology workshop launches in Europe

Four of the biggest names in Command & Control are coming together to run a unique series of workshops on control room technology and design. The initial event will be held in Warsaw, Poland on November 15th and 16th, and is open to anyone with an interest in systems and information management.

The companies involved, Adder, Mitsubishi Electric, Mauell and Saifor, have between them amassed vast global experience in delivering control room systems in industries as diverse as Transport, Security, Utilities, Power Generation and Traffic Management. Adder specialises in the design & manufacture of IP-based High Performance KVM solutions. Mitsubishi Electric is one of the world's leading suppliers of professional video wall systems. Saifor supplies specialist technical furniture and 19" racks used extensively in control rooms, and Mauell is an internationally renowned provider of tailor-made control room systems combining high-end equipment with full life-cycle support.

Two one day workshops will provide delegates with a comprehensive overview of contemporary thinking in Command & Control, covering not just technology but control room design, ergonomics, performance and versatility. The workshop is designed for system integrators, non-specialist centre managers and end-users, taking them through a basic understanding of the issues and how to address them, before discussing real-world case studies and finally providing the opportunity to get hands-on with the technology themselves. Alongside products from the companies involved will be examples of technology from partners Wacom, Eizo and Man & Machine.

Peter van Dijk, Business Development Manager for Mitsubishi Electric, commented, "Dealing with increasingly complex situational awareness issues is a challenge for end-users and managers working across a wide spectrum of industries. Our objective in these workshops is to enable non-specialist managers to gain a good understanding of the issues surrounding control room design and management, and how others have addressed them successfully. This is the first time that the knowledge of four leading manufacturers has been distilled in a single event, and we encourage anyone with an interest in control room technology to join us in Warsaw on November 15thand 16th.
