TREMCO'S SX500 cuts the hassle with fast drying times

As a flooring contractor regularly working for Bristol City Council, Fantasy Flooring is often involved in the refurbishment of social housing in occupied blocks of flats. Laying new flooring is always naturally troublesome in communal areas because of the need to balance continuity of access with the extended drying times of the products used. All this changed when the team at Fantasy Flooring was introduced to TREMCO's SX500 rapid drying smoothing compound.

Fantasy Flooring has long used TREMCO products so trialled a few bags of SX500. The advantages of using SX500 for fast-track flooring projects quickly became apparent as it was possible to minimise disruption to tenants by allowing them almost uninterrupted access to their homes while safely re-laying flooring in corridor and lobby areas that have almost continuous foot traffic.

SX500 is a protein-free, moisture-tolerant, smoothing compound for interior applications that allows downtime to be kept to a minimum because, although it has a working time of up to 10 minutes, it can be walked on in 20 to 30 minutes. The product is designed for application to existing floors and accepts both textile and resilient floorcoverings in as little as 90 minutes. SX500 is suitable for use with underfloor heating and, from an environmental perspective and is anOPC-free,low-odour product.

For Fantasy Flooring, using TREMCO'S SX500 means less inconvenience to the customer, a faster job and cost savings as floors can often be completed in just one site visit.
